FreudNet
The Abraham A. Brill Library of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute has selected
articles from the American Journal of Psychoanalysis and other psychoanalytical
articles. It includes commentaries on Sigmund Freud's works as well as information
on what is happening in psychoanalysis today.
Psych Abstracts:
This database contains abstracts of articles from the psychological and psychiatric
literature. The type of search logic is more complex, and there is a small fee for viewing
the abstracts. Healthgate has a fairly economical access plan. www.healthgate.com Since
Psych Abstracts' search technique is a bit less "user friendly" this is a source
for information on how to do the searches. Once you have found abstracts you can get
the full text articles by calling up a nearby medical library
Knowledge Exchange Network
Sponsored by the US Dept. of Health and Human Services, Dept of Substance Abuse and Mental
Health. This site provides information on books, periodicals, pamphlets, and mental health
statistics.
The Virtual
Hospital (The University of Iowa Family Practice Handbook)
This is an on-line primary care textbook. It includes a traditional table of contents and
a search feature. It provides descriptions of most common medical problems and discusses
treatment considerations. The chapters are fairly understandable.
